Try These Activities When Not Surfing

Although surfing is our main attraction, this beautiful stretch of beach offers so much more. Whether you’re in the mood for an avocado smoothie or a full-day trek, our surf vacations give you the freedom to surf whenever you please, so you can really experience the local culture.

When you need a break from surfing, check out this list of our top ten local attractions!

  1. Take in the sights of Taghazout from the beach.
When we’re not surfing, we love taking leisurely strolls along the beach all the way to Taghazout. At the conclusion of the hour-long stroll, you’ll find dozens of adorable beachside cafes where you can have a smoothie and shops to peruse! A short bus or taxi journey will get you back to Tamraght in no time at all if you don’t feel like walking.
  2. Indulge in a relaxing massage, hammam session, or perhaps both!
Relax your muscles and mind with an hour-long massage that will help you unwind after a day of surfing. We highly recommend a traditional hammam experience, where you can enter a steam room and have a full body scrub. When combined, they are our greatest pleasure.
  3. Go hiking in the Paradise Valley for a day of exploration.
For something a little more challenging, perhaps? Come along on a guided hike with Rachid across the Paradise Valley region for just one day. As you learn about the area, its history, and the local culture, you may expect to go off the main path.
  4. Obtain a nearby refreshment
If you’re looking for a place to have a smoothie, coffee, or pancake after a surf session, our hamlet is full of adorable cafes that serve these! Some of our favorite spots include Le Petit Kawa for their avocado smoothies, Day Dream for their coffee and retail therapy, and Adam’s Cafe for their icy milkshakes.
  5. Do some yoga to loosen up those muscles from surfing!
The Perfect Pair: Yoga and Surfing! Come practice yoga on our rooftop every day for surfers who want to increase their flexibility, strength, breath, and balance. Let your body, mind, and spirit recharge and rejuvenate.

  6. Substitute concrete waves for liquid ones.
Overlooking Taghazout village and the water, Taghazout Skatepark is a community skatepark that meets international standards. Embrace the carefree spirit and hop on a skateboard.
  7. Visit Bab Taghzout to meet the craftspeople
Artisans and craftspeople from the Souss region are showcased in a carefully selected tiny medina. An idyllic location for shopping therapy and meeting local artisans. Aourir, our charming neighboring village, is just a quick 5-minute drive away, ironically, rather than Taghazout.
  8. Experience the vivacity of Agadir Souk
An excellent spot to kill some time for both locals and visitors is the Agadir Souk, a huge and bustling marketplace. Indulge in a variety of traditional crafts, spices, and foods while honing your haggling skills and finding one-of-a-kind gifts!
  9. Take it easy by the pool.
Take advantage of the hotel’s day pass and relax by the pool with a refreshing drink in hand. Our favorite among the nearby hotels that provide this amenity is the Hyatt Place, Taghazout Bay, which is perched on a mountainside and has breathtaking views of the ocean.
  10. Watch the sun go down at the beach.
There’s no better way to wind down for the day than to watch the sun go down into the water, illuminating the sky with a spectacular light show of many colors. They go well with a hot cup of Moroccan mint tea, which is a favorite of ours.Is Morocco going to be your next surfing destination?
